University of Warwick Summer School
We are pleased to announce that the University of Warwick (Great Britain) invites students of the Humanities of the Ukrainian Catholic University to participate in the summer school, which will take place on June 12-25, 2023.
The purpose of this summer school is to give the UCU students a wide range of pedagogical experiences by introducing them to many different subject areas, methods and approaches taught by Warwick Arts Faculty, as well as to create conditions for enriching encounters between Warwick and UCU students and to help international students to better understand Ukraine and the war in Ukraine.
Among the topics planned for consideration during participation in the program are Yiddish Literature, Jane Austen, Catholic poets, Creative Writing, Sustainability, Eco-literatures, Decolonization and the entangled history of Ukraine, Reconstruction and Remembrance after the two World Wars, The Reformation in Germany and England, British post-war society, History of Food, India and decolonisation, North-American culture, TBA. In addition, the program also includes field trips and several meetings and events, in particular, on the topic of war and its international repercussions.
The University of Warwick will cover travel expenses (up to 250 Euro per student), provide free accommodation on campus and possibly pay the students a per diem (to be confirmed). The students would have to cover the visa costs and insurance.
Students of the 2nd and 3rd years of bachelor’s programs of the Faculty of Humanities are invited to participate in summer school.
To participate in the competition, we ask you to fill out the application form and submit the following documents:
• Motivation letter (in English)
• CV
• Transcript of records
• Certificate confirming the level of English at least B2
• Passport copy
