Ukrainian Catholic University announces a call for applications for one scholarship position in the doctoral
program Sacrae Theologiae Doctoratus (Specialty: Biblical theology, Dogmatic theology, Patristic theology, Liturgical Theology, Moral Theology, Pastoral Theology, Ecumenical Theology, Church History).
The joint project between UCU and Palacky University in Olomouc (Olomouc, Czech Republic) offers
Ukrainian graduates the opportunity to pursue doctoral research in Theology within a structured
Cotutelle-based framework. The project includes co-supervision by Czech and Ukrainian professors, research and study stays at both UCU and UPOL as well as the option of obtaining doctoral degrees from both
universities.
A student will be offered an Erasmus+ scholarship to cover the expenditures during his/her study stay at
UPOL (at least 1 academic semester). The scholarship funds will bear the travel costs and monthly stipend
to cover the accommodation expenditures, study materials, health insurance and meals.
Applicants must submit the following documents:
✔ CV in Europass format with extracurricular activities, internships, publications, conferences,
awards, etc.;
✔ Research proposal in English. This document must contain:
a) A project description and a work plan of the doctoral project
b) A clear indication of the added value of the collaboration
c) A clear time plan of the research time at both institutions.
✔ a copy of the first page of your international passport;
✔ scanned copy of MA degree diploma
✔ Proof of Language Proficiency (English): certificate from a foreign language teacher at UCU with a
certain level of proficiency in this language; international certificate of foreign language proficiency
(e.g.TOEFL / IELTS / DuoLingo / DaF);
✔ A reference letter from UCU Supervisor in English.
Terms and Conditions
UCU has set minimal terms which must be met to establish a joint PhD Cotutelle Agreement.
The doctoral candidate must:
✔ Be enrolled at UCU STD program
✔ Have an approved PhD research proposal at UCU
✔ Have a supervisor in each cooperating institution (UCU and UPOL)
✔ Carry out research at each institution for at least six months
✔ Defend the PhD degree in one of the partner institutions

All applications will be considered by the joint UCU-UPOL Commission. The applicants might be invited for
additional interviews with Commission members.
