“The experience of being an international student is always special, but my experience at UCU was just priceless. I’d never come across this kind of warm atmosphere and tight-knit community in a study environment before. Studying at a spiritual university, even if you have no faith, is so fulfilling. It gave me an entirely different perspective on what it means to be a student that I will take back to my home university with pride.”
Erasmus+ Ph.D. student, European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany.
I was not really familiar with Ukrainian educational system before, just knew that there were several new spots and the UCU is, for example, a new kind of university. In UCU bureaucratic system is very direct and non-complex. If you have a problem, you can solve it directly and without much troubles. Classes are easily accessible, so even if you are not fluent in Ukrainian there are classes in English. You can have a very open minded discussion even with professors and if you do disagree with them you can discuss it. That is definitely a pro argument.

“I knew something about UCU’s reputation from my friends in Oxford University Ukrainian Society…I knew that UCU was a private institution and it is trying to do things in a different way and it is trying to almost change Ukrainian universities by example. We have this expression – to lead by example. And I thought that it would be an important thing to come and help with because a lot has been done and it is very positive at UCU and it is still a lot to do though.”
